This year’s edition is the second one where the “Super Deformed” category branched off the “Non-scale” one. I still maintain that it isn’t a synonym for a Nendoroid category. Nendoroids just happen to occupy the list. Entries on the list, be they Nendoroid or not, have cute faces with small hands and feet that will bring a smile to your face. That is, unless you prefer mature figures. Mature figures who, give you a different type of happiness.
Before we begin, let’s be clear which figures are eligible for inclusion.

Honorable Mentions
Our honorable mentions are Nendoroid Gardener from Identity V and Nendoroid Karyl
With a stitched style reminiscent of “Little Big Planet,” Gardener’s design is best suited for these cuter types of figures. Her mischievous expression and pose is her best combination. And with the cross, square, and circle on her apron, her expression says that knows someone’s a “triangle” away from getting sued. Karyl with her exposed fang and green eyes was adorable from the moment she appeared. Her sage-inspired outfit retains its detail despite being miniaturized. The white and shades of purple therein also match her hair.

Nendoroid Miku Nakano
Even if she’s the most popular of the quintuplets, Ichika’s clearly the best one! But from cooling off by removing her stockings, to walking while looking at her matcha. It’s Miku’s various expressions and poses that clearly capture her charm. And it’s a charm that is mostly laking in the subsequent Nendoroids her sisters.

Gwendolyn’s ladylike pose with her hands in her lap as sits in front of the table is sweet. Her blank stare and glazed eyes also puts smiles on our faces. They probably does the same for you. Her light purple pastel paintwork and in addition to the gold metallic trim, helps secure her place on our list.

Nendoroid UMP9
The Nendoroid of the so-called “Mood-maker” from Girls’ Frontline joins our list in third position. Her detailed outfit has its complexity retained, even though it’s been shrunk. She has numerous expressions, but no matter which one, they’re all cute. T-Dolls also never slack. Even in Nendoroid form, UMP9 has trigger discipline!

Nendoroid Senko
“Let me touch your tail!”
The Nendoroid of the helpful fox, Senko is up next. The circular highlights in her hair quickly show you the effort that went into conveying her charm in SD figure-form. Senko’s blushing expressions are mostly happy, even when they’re not, they’re still adorable. Much like Miku, she comes with accessories and poses to remind you of the series. Her bushy tail and over-sized fluffy ears are not only cute, but soothing as well.

“There is nothing in that teacup!”
When it comes to these chibi or super-deformed selections, cute is the order of the day. Rita is immediately eligible with one of her eyes hidden and the other glistening. But it’s her flushed cheeks and angled smile that leaves us no choice. Her face isn’t the only thing that makes her our pick. The simple detail and coloring also makes you think you’re looking at a drawing when looking at her. Wherever you look, not one figure this year is cuter than miHoYo’s Asteroid Rita Rossweisse!
