Welcome to our list of favorite re-releasing figures of the year. We call our re-release section “Another Chance” because if you messed up, you have another chance to order this pretty girl!
Before we begin, let’s be clear which figures are eligible for inclusion.
Eligibility
- 1. The figure must have at least one previous release
- 2. A figure with multiple pre-order periods before her initial release is ineligible
Honorable Mentions
This year we have three honorable mentions. Had Nendoroid Syaro seen her initial release this year, she’d have been on our super deformed list for sure with her cute, smile-inducing expressions. Next, we have Hatsune Miku Deep Sea Girl with her awe-inspiring coloring and feminine pose. Finally, we have Saber Extra with her serious expression and the flowing motion of her dress.
With our honorable mentions, mentioned, let’s begin what is our second most important list of the year!

5th
Holo Spice and Wolf 10th Anniversary Ver.
Right out of the gate we have the Wise Wolf that is REVOLVE’s Spice and Wolf 10th Anniversary Holo. She has been designed by Ayakura Juu and it tells by her wide mouth and familiar shaped face. Holo’s long green dress is also reminiscent of the setting seen in the series. It not only reminds us of the world, but her dress is also impressive for how the fabric moves with her body; especially by her legs. Finally, her base places her in a field with wind sweeping across the land. It further expands the feeling of the world.

Yukinoshita Yukino by Kotobukiya
There were only two other Yukino figures when she saw her initial release. One was a prize and the other, a 1/10th scale BEACH QUEEN. There are more Yukino figures nowadays. Even though some have come close, no other maker, not even Kotobukiya on a subsequent attempt, has been able to capture Yukino’s melancholic yet beautiful expression and pose as they have here.
Plainly speaking, we are looking at Yukino’s lightning in a bottle figure.

3rd
Saber Altria Pendragon DX Ver. by STRONGER
Taking third place on our list is STRONGER’s Saber Altria Pendragon DX Ver. Her flared dress and cape, with her sword by her side, shows off her stately confidence. If it weren’t for her outfit, you’d definitely see the confidence in her intense glare. Whether she’s frowning or smiling with her replacement face, it doesn’t take away from the fact that Altria is pretty.
It’s clear that they spared nothing in pursuit of magnificence when sculpting her outfit. However, it would be for naught if it weren’t for the textured finish on her cape and dress. The front section of her dress is especially remarkable for its faint pattern.

2nd
Plachta by ALTER
The second best re-release is the out of the blue one that is ALTER’s Plachta from Atelier Sophie. Her outfit is just as impressive as it is in the illustration. She has a limited number of colors, but a a myriad of textures that all flow together result in a breathtaking figure. Her translucent hair flows like silk in motion and sheen as it drapes over her arm and pools on the floor. In an amazing figure, this is one of her best details.

1st
Saber/Altria Pendragon (Alter) Dress ver.
Besides saying her name, nothing more needs to be said, does it? This is her second re-release. Had MGW been around when she was initially released or re-released, Saber Alter would have been on the “Most Outstanding” and the “Another Chance” lists for each respective release. I’d be shocked if she wasn’t. She is that figure.
What makes her special? Everything, take your pick. If you choose, you may have her pose with covered or bare shoulders. The twisting and creasing quality in her sleeves match the detail in her dress. Her thinner sleeves, on the other hand, give her a lighter feeling. But she remains stately either way. Each arm position allows her hand to touch the side of her face. It gives her a feminine atmosphere, posing her with her sword gives her a commanding one.
And her cold stare just makes it better.
