One of our favorite figures last year was “Tokisaki Kurumi Lingerie ver.” by Alphamax. Seeing the respectable increase of her aftermarket price over her list price, it’s safe to say she’s loved by fellow collectors too. As with the original version, her face, sculpt, pose, and even base are superb; they’re reasons she’s an acclaimed figure that many collectors want to own.
If many good parts of her design remained, what can we say of “Tokisaki Kurumi Lingerie Ver. Black color”? They made significant adjustments to her color scheme while leaving a few of the original color choices the same. One of the more noticeable changes is how her midnight black hair is now brown with a mahogany sheen.
Her shoes are more prominent, but the prominence may not be ideal. The red is distracting, so instead of looking at the charming girl in front of you, your gaze meanders towards her nice, but bright red kitten heels. Alphamax might have avoided the jarring shoe color, had they matched the shade used for her suspenders.
I miss her vibrant burnt orange corset, but you could make a case that it’s distracting, though not as much as her shoes. The distraction is obvious regarding how the new subdued color emphasizes the creases and dark brown pattern. Another improvement gained by the new color is the better visibility of her body and lace panties; speaking for their care in selecting materials.
While I can’t call her flawless, Tokisaki Kurumi Lingerie Ver. Black color is a solid figure and well worth the asking price. Are you looking to pick up this variant of the sweet Nightmare or as her predecessor, will she be a future grail?
